Homemade Eczema Treatment (9): Almond Oil with Vitamin E

almond oil for eczema

Almond oil for eczema: this is what I learned from a brochure in one of the health stores. I found it quite effective. The dryness and itchiness have somewhat subsided a fair bit after a couple of days.

I made a lotion with pure oil and Vitamin E. Pure almond oil is easily available. However, if you are willing to spend a little more, you can opt for apricot kennel oil. Basically any natural oil will do so long they moisturize your skin.

There are 2 ways to get Vitamin E.

Option 1

is to use pure Vitamin E oil sold in bottles.

Option 2

is to get Vitamin E capsules from your local health shop. Pure Vitamin E oil is much more costlier but you can’t argue about the richness or the quality. Vitamin E capsules are a lot more affordable. Use a pin to prick open one of the capsules and add to the pure almond oil. The proportion is up to you but I generally add 2 – 3 thick drops to a teaspoon of oil.

You can also add some oats to the Vitamin E-Oil lotion to thicken it up and apply it like a paste. It is a little messy and you might want to use a gauze or something airy to cover the paste. Otherwise, do it my way  – Apply the mixture and then relax in front of the TV or with a good book for a good 60-90 minutes. By the time, your skin is nourished by the time you clean the oat residue off.
